Want to move to the beach....any suggestions of places that you guys recommend?

I have been wanting to move to the beach all of my life.... and I have the chance to move. I really only have three requirements: It's not boring as heck, its safe, and I am looking at the beach or at least a sound.... and preferably on the East Coast and south of DC, had to throw two more in there...
