I will probably move to LA next summer/fall and I wanted to know what advice people have about moving there?

My bf wants to move to LA to pursue his acting career. We are coming from the New England area. I would like to know what people have to say about living there and any useful advice for the big move from east to west coast. Also what neighborhoods people suggest to move into. Any advice will help.
